How to make a good PowerPoint presentation


The PowerPoint program is a basic tool for every college student, and, yes, we all know how to use it, but are you sure you're doing it right?


Doing it really well is not as easy as it seems. From the time we start our degree until we get our degree, often using a college paper writing service or other help and presenting such assignments in class becomes quite common. In this way, we all get very nervous when we find ourselves in front of the whole class. The better we get used to it and master certain techniques.


A well-presented paper is an outstanding paper, and, therefore, we need to put a lot more effort into our presentation than we usually do. Choose colors

Not only the theme template or the style of the presentation but also the colors of everything, and don't change them. It is important to have visual consistency throughout the PowerPoint.


Keep the typography 

As with the colors, you should choose a typeface and respect it initially. You can even select 2 if you want to use one to highlight something, but keep a uniformity, so it doesn't look crappy.


Highlight titles and subtitles

On each page of the PowerPoint comes a top box (which gives you the theme you have chosen in a preset way) to put the titles if you want, but it may be that you wish to put sections or subsections within that title. They must be distinguishable from a distance, so you should highlight them. 


Symmetry and simplicity

A PowerPoint presentation should be intended to support an oral presentation. As much as you are a lover of kitsch, you should also think of your viewers in the back row of the class. The simpler the design and the more symmetrical, the more pleasing to the eye and the easier to follow. That doesn't mean it has to be a white background with black letters. You can (and should) take care of the aesthetics and try to make it "pretty," but think more about being inspired by a Wes Anderson movie than by a John Waters movie (even if John Waters rocks a lot).


Images and diagrams

A good PowerPoint presentation should have many images, graphs, or diagrams. All of them should be visible from the end of the class, be easy to understand and maintain the visual aesthetics of the rest of the presentation, including the chosen color palette. If we have selected a graphic from another document, we can easily vary the colors with a photo editing program, but the images should be chosen wisely so as not to clash too much. Good harmony, on the whole, will give a more professional image and reflect that we have made an effort.


Forget to put paragraphs

 PowerPoint slides serve to support our oral presentation, not to expose us. It should be a minimal visual guide to illustrate what we are saying, so putting complete texts is not recommended, and it is a mistake we usually make. The presentation should only list sections and add visual support, but you should say the paragraphs yourself.


Make your cards simultaneously

 For the presentation to be perfect and well prepared, it is best to design the PowerPoint simultaneously as we write the supporting text. This way, we will be associating images and words, and it will be easier to memorize what we have to say in each slide, but it will also help us know if we are illustrating well what we are going to say.


Put things that attract attention

If you want your work to stand out and stay in the teacher's memory, look for striking images, insert videos, open the discussion by asking rhetorical questions, and add music. The idea is that by adjusting to the time you have, you can create an impact on your viewers both visually and in terms of the fundamentals of the work.
