4.2.1 Workflow Manager based on OWL-S

The Workflow Manager is part of the Workflow Toolchain developed by DFKI, the central basis for creating workflows in the CAxMan project. The Workflow Manager is an infrastructure component that allows users to execute existing workflows on the CAxMan Infrastructure.

  • The component executes the workflows stored in the CAxMan Infrastructure repository, based on the user’s credentials.
  • The execution of a workflow is triggered by the CAxMan Portal / One-stop-shop
  • This component is based on standards, like the Web Service Description Language (WSDL), the SOAP protocol, and the Web Ontology Language (OWL-S).
  • When an execution is finished the result is provided to the user via the data management services of the CAxMan Cloud Infrastructure.
